This is a simple 4 ingredient recipe to make your own herbal toothpaste!
I recently made my 1st batch and was surprised to find that it tastes like sesame-flavored peanut butter!
The tea tree essential oil is anti-bacterial/-viral/-fungal and together with the white clay, baking soda and sesame/sunflower oil, you have all you need to kill pathogens, reduce plague and draw out toxins from your teeth and gums 👍🏻

Ingredients
- 20g White Clay
- 20g Baking Soda
- 25g Sesame oil (or any other cold pressed organic oil of your preference like sunflower/coconut/almond oil)
- 5 drops Tea Tree essential oil
Mix white clay to baking soda at 1:1 ratio. For more smooth consistency you can add more white clay
Add just enough sesame oil to reach desired consistency
Measure and mix in essential oil to 1% of added sesame oil (20 drops = 1mL)
The measurements I used above were just nice in my opinion. The toothpaste wasn’t clumpy and spreads out well when you brush.

The only downside is that it is oil based.
So it might take some time to get used to your mouth and toothbrush being oily after brushing. Although this wouldn’t be a problem if you are used to oil pulling (another great way to maintain oral health!)
I find that the oil instantly causes me to salivate a whole lot! Which is a good thing when brushing as I don’t even need to wet the toothbrush much😁
